A lot of people had wondered why a guy would
want to do Pilates. Isn’t it for women? Well,
all I had ever heard was that it was a intense,
core building, strength training program. I knew
better than to think Pilates was only for women.
I had grown very disappointed in my personal
appearance (over 238 pounds, over 44 inch waist,
High Body Fat content of 30%) as well as low
endurance. I could tell I was not as strong as I
used to be as I could barely water ski anymore
without severe muscle pain for the next few days
and that was only after skiing at the most for 5
minutes. I was only 39. Enough was enough.
I made Pilates a part of my disciplined exercise
program to regain physical strength (and shape).
What I’ve found out is that it takes a personal
trainer to really push me to where I needed to
go. My core strength, just 5 months into a
regimen, is amazingly improved. I went skiing
recently with Patrea and her husband Troy and I
hadn’t skied like that since I was 20 or
younger. I also was NOT sore afterwards. My
physical measurements are also something to
note: 37 inch waist (lost 7 inches), 212 pounds
(lost 26 lbs) and 23% body fat (down from 30%).
Patrea was also helpful in helping me shape my
eating habits to facilitate this result as well.
I also sleep like a champ now and have more
energy during the day.
Bottom line, make exercise a reward for yourself
and find a trainer like Patrea. For me, it would
have been too easy to quit on myself had I not
had a trainer helping me stay accountable to my
goals.

Moms know how hard it is to target those
stubborn abdominal muscles after having
children. Working out with Patrea personally, as
well as all her videos (even though my youngest
is 3, I still like doing the prenatal video) all
help get that part of your body, and all the
other parts too, back in shape!
I am stronger
all over--my arms and legs look great, and those
troublesome core muscles are tightening back up.
I highly recommend Patrea's videos as well as
having her as a trainer.
